Cat Turned 60!

This past weekend we went to Clarksdale because my Dad turned 60 so we took the boat out in the heat of the day! We put Hayes' baby pool on the boat & filled it up with water so she had a blast while the rest of us poured sweat. We cooked out Saturday night & celebrated Cat's birthday & then ate at Noni's for Father's Day.

Update

Finally after 7 days, my little girl is herself again. Saturday was the first morning in 7 days that she woke up smiling, Saturday night is the first night in 7 nights that she let me put her in her crib and leave without her squaling. No more clingy, whiney baby that needed to be rocked for every nap & every bedtime! She played, smiled, laughed all day Saturday. My friend Shelby had a portrait party which was awesome. It was so pretty outside. Hayes did so well for her pics then we went to a birthday party that isn't until next Saturday. Yes, you heard me correctly, next Saturday. Hayes and I loaded up after the portrait party, drove to the party & met Bryce there right on time. It was 11 on the dot. Bryce wondered why there were no cars, I said b/c people come late to everything these days. We giggled and proceeded to the door. When we saw that the lights were off, we thought well maybe the party is at the neighborhood clubhouse since the invitation said to bring your swimsuit so we head down the sidewalk when the front door opens and Emily is standing there. We said we are here for the party (wrapped gift in hand) and she cracks up laughing. She says it is next weekend but Tripp was waking up from his nap so we could come in and play. Well needless to say, she is laughing & we are laughing. Next she picks up the phone to call Jay to tell him and he gets on the phone with Bryce and makes fun of him. Just so you will know some background, Jay and Bryce go WAY back so it was fitting for Jay to poke fun. The way that they talk to each other, you would think that they really weren't friends! Anyway, I get home today from church to check my email and get a reminder about Tripp's birthday that is next Saturday. Looks like I had set up a reminder a week in advance & when it went off this past week, I snoozed it and didn't bother to read the date. What an idiot!

Gus Has a Skirt Around His Neck

Poor Gus had his manhood taken away today. Dr. Camp said he would not quit licking his incision so he will sporting this fine thing for 10 days.

Stomach Bug

I have been home with Hayes for the past 2 days. We thought she was teething b/c she was extremely fussy on Saturday but then on Sunday she started running high fever and throwing up so we took her to the after hours clinic. Her ears looked good and her throat looked good so they did some blood work & a urine test both of which came back fine. It was ruled as a stomach bug & we were sent home with an antibiotic. She thought that the laundry basket of sheets were the most fun so she climbed in and out and then in again and then out again. Little girl has not slept for more than 3 hours at a time since Friday night so needless to say Mommy is exhausted! We have been so lucky with her sleep pattern that this has been a rude awakening!

Monday was a Big Day

Monday Hayes had her checkup at Batson with Dr. Harmon for her kidneys. He said that she was growing out of the problem & we could continue antibiotics for another year & recheck. She weighed in at 19lbs, 2oz. Our 13 month old still hasn't hit 20lbs. Bryce took her to daycare & it was her first day in the toddler room. She got there in time to eat lunch & then got to play for a while before naptime. Please note that they no longer have cribs & have to take naps with a pillow & blanket on a mat. Yeah right! I pray for those caregivers for attempting that task. Needless to say, Hayes came home with no nap all day long so she feel asleep in the car & slept in her carseat until 7:30 eventhough her bedtime is 7. She woke up, ate a little bit & crashed for good. She was WORN out. I think she is going to like Ms. Toni!

Cookout

Our church small group got together with the kids on Sunday night. They swam in baby pools and had a blast.
